I am currently addicted to lip balms or lip treatments. I think women with soft and luscious lips are beautiful. It just frames or rather enhance a person's face...well thats what I think anyways.
So I went on a lip balm/treatment rampage online and saw a review on Clinique's Intensive Lip Treatment. Review read something like this....long lasting moisture which keeps your lips soft throughout the day... SOLD!
Went for dinner with the family yesterday and decided to get one. Initial reaction? SUPER SHOCK! It is sooo freaking expensive for a lip treatment and honestly way expensive for a Clinique product. But being a beauty sucker that I am... I caved and bought it.
Note: I will also be doing a review on Estee Lauder's Lip Conditioner.
Item 1
Product
What does it claim to do?
(Information was shamelessly plagiarized from their website http://www.clinique.com/)
Intensive lip treatment helps repair the look of wrinkles on and around lips. Provides antioxidant protection against the environment. Boosts natural collagen production. Replenishes natural moisture barrier so lips stay soft, hydrated.
What it actually does? (Personal Experience)
- It is very moisturizing to the point of it being thick
- Lips does have an illusion of being fuller
- Lips definitely feels smoother and softer
- Need to apply several times for it to remain that way...however not as often as other lip treatments
Pros?
- Nice Packaging (Very Clinique)
- Nice taste (not your normal lippy taste)
- It works...but not assss much as I expected it too..but then again my expectations for things can be quite ridiculous so..
Cons?
- Ridiculously expensive (S$57.00)
Verdict? (3 out of 5 lippies) - not happy about the price
It is a good product not FANTASTIC. Definitely one of the better ones that I have tried... but seriously though... S$57???!?!?!
Item 2
Product
Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner
What does it do? (Information taken from http://www.esteelauder.com/)
Hydrates, smooths, comforts and protects lips , SPF 15 sunscreen , Vitamins C and E , Shea Butter and other naturally derived moisturizers
What it actually does? (Personal Experience)
- Everything it said it does.
- Loves it!!
Pros?
- Not as expensive as other "branded" lip treatments (S$30 or S$32)
- Loving the packaging
- Really does moisturize your lips
Cons?
- To achieve that kissable lips look you have to apply it quite often. Especially for dry lips like mine...so the lip conditioner only lasted for about 2 weeks to 3 weeks.
Verdict? (4 out of 5 lippies)
- I just love it. I really do.
OVERALL VERDICT?
Dont waste your time and money getting the Clinique one, the Estee Lauder one works amazingly well and I bet the Clinique one would run out the same time as the Estee Lauder one. If you look closely, both brand have the same "stick lenghth", so in terms of quantity, no difference. Honest opinion.. Go get the LIP CONDITIONER from ESTEE LAUDER...makes more sense dont ya think?
Have fun being beautiful.
Till Then Chicas.
