GOOOOD MORNING 2009!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Hope everyone had a fantabulous time ushering in 2009. Anyhue, when asked, what is your New Year's resolution, many just roll their eyes and say nothing coz they cant seem to stay to it. I have to admit that I loveeee making them but never seem to be able to commit to them for more than a month. Ok who am I kidding, I'd be lucky if I could make it through a week. Since I am all about change this time round, I shall make this year's resolution work. And what is that you might ask? Easy. Be healthy. Short and Sweet. Ok now to a more interesting topic.

I just came back from Korea like 3 weeks ago and bought some beauty stuff. To all you beauty junkies out there, Korea is a place you just HAVE to visit. Dont worry about the rest of Korea just concentrate on the beauty stores. I mean if you want to know or see more of Korea just go online, its probably the same. Hahaha. I know shallow, but I am not called a beauty junkie for nothing. Anyways, I will be reveiwing 2 products that I purchased from there. All items can be found in Singapore. So no worries ... :)

Some basic information on facial masks.

Facial masks provides a deep nourishment for your skin, almost like a mini pamper session. It also helps to increase circulation, moisturize and detoxify your skin. However, to make the most out of facial mask, make you purchase one that is most suited for your skin type, as unsuitable ones would cause skin irritations such as acne or rashes. I know that many of you might think that facial masks are small ticket items and thus no research is needed when wanting to purchase such a product. But please, ladies do your research. There are tons of online outlets that does amazing reviews on almost everything and anything. So I say, do your research! Dont let those nasty acne crawl out of your skin for nothing!!

Item No.1
Laniege - Water Sleeping Pack

What is it?

Laniege WSP is a gel based mask that is formulated such that it can be left on even when you sleep. The SA informed me this mask is extremely hydrating for the skin and would make your skin feeling soft and supple.

Price?

I am not too sure how much it cost here, I reckon its like $36.00 for a tub or something. I think its totally worth it coz you dont have to use a whole blob. I also reckon that one tub can last for about more than 2 months. (For a twice a week application)

Directions

Just like any other masks, apply product evenly after cleasing your face. Then go to sleep and be excited to get up the next morning to see what the results are like.

Verdict
LOVING IT - hmmmm 4 out of 5 lippies

I truly do. Firstly, I can go straight to bed instantly after applying the gel coz it dries up quite nicely. Secondly, it gives me a good enough reason to want to wake up early (so I can see or rather feel the results, haha). And thirdly, it does make my skin feel hydrated and somewhat radiant.

Item No. 2
Pearl Mask - THEFACESHOP

What is it?

A face mask which contains pearl essence, this pearl essence claims to help whiten and brighten the face.

Price

In Singapore, it cost like 3 packets for $10.00. So I wont recommend using it on a weekly basic coz it can get a little pricy.

Directions

Again, apply mask sheet onto a cleansed face.

Verdict?
Lovely Product - 3 out of 5 lippies

I have actually been using this product way before I went to Korea. I love the fact that it is convenient, such that it is not messy and I dont have to literally scrub my face off to get the mask off my face. However, I dont see any difference on the whitening effect of it. My face however does feel fresh after using it, I guess it also helps brighten my face. Slightly though, not much. The only reason why I am still a user of this product is probably because of the smell.

Hope these two short reviews helped you guys.
Till the next time!!

The Skin

I believe that having flawless skin makes someone beautiful. Now when i say flawless, i mean radiant, smooth, acne-free, hydrated skin. Some imprefections such as freckles are extremely cute.

So today let me share a few good tip on keeping your skin supple.

1) Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Water is THE most powerful beauty secret that everyone should know. Drinking lots of water would make your skin very very happy and this would definitely make you extra happy. Trust me, i have tried doing this before and it really works! Do it for 2 weeks straight and i promise you would notice a dramatic difference. It does need a little getting use to, drinking that amount of water, your skin would thank you for it. Plus its totally inexpensive! If you are not sure how much you should drink for your body weight, simply visit dietnation.com which provides a water consumption calculator for your convenience.

So i say, drink up ladies!

2) Supplements. Important. Super Important. While you can get some of the vitamins and minerals from everyday foods, one cant possible consume enough to fully benefit from its properties. So i suggest, popping those pills. Two pills comes to mind. Vitamin E and Vitamin C.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant known for its properties of fighting off free radicals. (Antioxidant here should be the magic word) It is said that Vitamin E helps to improve certain skin conditions such as acne and eczema.

Vitamin C is an important element involved in creating collagen. Now, collagen as I know, or rather aggrevating collagen production is good for reducing acne scars. Apart from this, it has been rumoured that by taking daily amounts of Vitamin C supplements, one can actually whiten their skin. I actually know of one person who consumes 1000mg of Vitamin C per day and has actually gotten really fair. Havent tried it out myself, but will definately do it and let you guys know the progress.

Note: I am no dermatologist, the above information were retrieved from books. I would recommend that you ask your local pharmacist for the correct dosage before purchase.

3) Exercise. So obvious yet sooo hard to follow. Alright ladies, lets do this one together. I mean 30 mins of exercise, 3 times a week wont kill right?? So yes, lets perform our 30mins exercise at least 3 times a week to have that natural radiant glow. Hey who says beauty is easy.

4) Food. So fried, fattening food is bad for our skin. Bah! I say we get to eat what we want but in moderation. Lets increase our consumption of yummy fruits and vegs and reduce our intake of food that would make our skin hate us. What I like to do is, eat healthy throughout the week and choose a cheat day where you get to eat that one super fattening thing that you have been craving for, in moderation of course.
So yea, thats about it. Easy no? Try it out and let me know how it goes.

Lets Try This

Welcome! I am so very excited! After exploring through dozens of beauty blogsites, i have decided to start one of my own! I am a total beauty junkie so i thought why not give it a shot! Before i start, here is a brief introduction.

I have always love make-up. I attended make-up school and earned a diploma in Professional Make-Up Artistry. Unfortunately, due to my studies, i have not been able to actively fully utilize my make-up knowledge. However, this definitely did not stopped me from purchasing and "experimenting" with different make-up brands, make-up textures etc. I also occasionally freelanced for weddings/day-night make up...but like i said, i was not active.

Apart from make-up, i am very much into health. I have tons and tons of beauty and health books with great tips and DIY beauty products. (Dont worry i will definitely share some of the great tips and recipes with you guys! Cant Wait!) Oh i am also a fitness junkie....well at least i buy hundreds of those diet/health books, so diet tips would can definately be found on this blogsite. It would be so great to be able to share with everyone some helpful tips on looking healthy and most importantly feeling healthy.

Hmmm lets see what esle....oh yes, I would be furthering my studies in Perth, Western Australia by myself...in July 2008. (Very scared but excited at the same time as this would be the first time i am away from the family for a long period of time, but its a good adventure..haha) So i reckon with my school assignments and this blogsite i would be kept very busy.

Ok i think i shall leave it here for now. Till then have a lovely lovely week ahead!!
