Mascara Review - Finally

Hey Kids,
Just got back from my Europe trip. One word. Beautiful. Now lets move on to business. Highly anticipated Mascara Review. Hah. I have decided to do the eyeliner and mascara reviews separately cause I just feel like it. So lets get a move on shall we?

Rimmel is a well known "drug store" cosmetics brand which originated from... yep you guessed it!...London. I believe it is now available in Singapore, Watsons and we all should be very happy and thankful to the smart people at Watsons for bringing the brand into this country where longer, fuller lashes are much needed.

First Up!

1) Rimmel Glam' Eyes Mascara

First of all....BRAVO RIMMEL. BRAVO. This is one of the best mascaras I have ever owned. I love how flexible the brush is (so its easy to reach the inner corner lashes) and how pretty the packaging of the tube is. But most importantly, it separates your lashes beautifully and really delivers on its volume and lengthening promises.

Overall Verdict
5 out of 5 lippies

2) Rimmel Magnif' Eyes

This particular mascara is suppose to "open" up your eyes by lengthening your eye lashes. One word. Crap. Didnt do much for my lashes. Hated it. Waste of money. Dont get it.

Overall Verdict
-1 out of 5 lippies

3) Rimmel Sexy Curves

As the name suggests, this mascara is suppose to curl your lashes with a lengthening effect. What can I say about this one... hmmm... its alright I suppose. Its not as bad as the "thing" I mentioned above but not as good as I thought it would be. Someone the brush feels kinda hard on my lashes and it kinda hurts when I apply it on. It might just be me...but I dunno. You get the effect of the curve not much but you can definately see it.

Overall Verdict
2.5 out of 5 lippies

Loreal... you guys all know about Loreal right? So I shall not bore you with their details.

1) Loreal Volume/Shocking Mascara

Happy I'm in love with my best friend. Lalalala. I LOVE IT!! Absolute LOVE. It is sooooo goood. And the comb on this thing...FANTASTIC. The mascara wand itself looks like a comb so its great for separating your lashes. The gold colour wand is an enchancer (applied first) is also great!! This one really helped me out alot. Girls with really sparse lashes....this one is definately the one for you!!! Note though that this is more for volume rather than length. Length wise....it wasnt too great.

Overall Verdict
4.5 out of 5 lippies

2) Loreal Double Essence Mascara

This one is very similar to the Volume/Shocking mascara but not as good. I dont know, some people have said that its the best mascara they have ever used but I dont really care much for this one. I mean it looks like it would be great but really....its just ok.

Overall Verdict - You can Skip IT
3 out of 5 lippies

Maybe she's born with it. Maybe she's maybelline. Nuff said.

1) Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

This one is great if you want that natural looking mascara look but a total nonsense if you want to appear like you have fuller lashes. So naturally, me not wanting the too natural look completely hates this mascara. This mascara should be best friends with the Rimmerl Magnif' Eyes mascara. They should hold hands or wands (hahaha) and jump off the bridge or something cause honestly...they suck. I know alot of make-artist like to use this brand for photoshoots but I hate it. If I had my kryptonite..this would be it.

Overall Verdict
-3 out of 5 lippies

2) Maybelline XXL Mascara

The only XXL thing about this mascara is the width of the tube. Everything esle is just plain wrong. It clumps, its fat and it doesnt work. Dont waste your money girls.

Overall verdict
1 out of 5 lippies

3) Maybelline Full and Soft Mascara

Ok so I know I dont really dig the natural look but when I feel playin' my lips up I'll go subtle on the eyes and thats when this one comes is handy. It does give you that ommph that you need but not so dramatically. I really love this one too. Its great and it doesnt make your lashes feel HARD or BREAKABLE. Good mascara.

Overall Verdict
3.5 out of 5 lippies
I absolutely love Cover Girl. But sadly it has been discontinued in Singapore for whatever reason so unfortunately you cant get this brand here. But bless your little hearts cause Internet has the power to make every one of you happy. Online Shopping babies.
1) Cover Girl Lash Blast
Ladies!!! Screaaam!!! This is the best MASCARA EVER invented by any MANUFACTURER!!! It is realllll good like seriously, seriously FANTASTIC. If any of you ever get the chance to buy it...grab it. Coz it just good. Volume - Checked. Length - Checked. Gorgeous Lashes - Double Checked.
Overall Verdict - Dont get it if you dont want beautiful lashes
6 out of 5 lippies
So the best mascaras are ........ WINNAHHHHH
Rimmel Glam' Eyes and Cover Girl Lash Blast!!!!!
Sorry if I was harsh on some of the reviews but I am extremely passionate when it comes to mascaras... hahahaha
PS: All the reviews are done on drugstore mascaras so all prices ranges between 15 to 25 $S.

Clinique Intensive Lip Treatment

Heyo Hoohas..

I am currently addicted to lip balms or lip treatments. I think women with soft and luscious lips are beautiful. It just frames or rather enhance a person's face...well thats what I think anyways.

So I went on a lip balm/treatment rampage online and saw a review on Clinique's Intensive Lip Treatment. Review read something like this....long lasting moisture which keeps your lips soft throughout the day... SOLD!

Went for dinner with the family yesterday and decided to get one. Initial reaction? SUPER SHOCK! It is sooo freaking expensive for a lip treatment and honestly way expensive for a Clinique product. But being a beauty sucker that I am... I caved and bought it.

Note: I will also be doing a review on Estee Lauder's Lip Conditioner.

Item 1
Product
Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment

What does it claim to do?
(Information was shamelessly plagiarized from their website http://www.clinique.com/)
Intensive lip treatment helps repair the look of wrinkles on and around lips. Provides antioxidant protection against the environment. Boosts natural collagen production. Replenishes natural moisture barrier so lips stay soft, hydrated.

What it actually does? (Personal Experience)
  • It is very moisturizing to the point of it being thick
  • Lips does have an illusion of being fuller
  • Lips definitely feels smoother and softer
  • Need to apply several times for it to remain that way...however not as often as other lip treatments

Pros?

  • Nice Packaging (Very Clinique)
  • Nice taste (not your normal lippy taste)
  • It works...but not assss much as I expected it too..but then again my expectations for things can be quite ridiculous so..

Cons?

  • Ridiculously expensive (S$57.00)

Verdict? (3 out of 5 lippies) - not happy about the price

It is a good product not FANTASTIC. Definitely one of the better ones that I have tried... but seriously though... S$57???!?!?!

Item 2

Product

Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner

What does it do? (Information taken from http://www.esteelauder.com/)
Hydrates, smooths, comforts and protects lips , SPF 15 sunscreen , Vitamins C and E , Shea Butter and other naturally derived moisturizers

What it actually does? (Personal Experience)

  • Everything it said it does.
  • Loves it!!

Pros?

  • Not as expensive as other "branded" lip treatments (S$30 or S$32)
  • Loving the packaging
  • Really does moisturize your lips

Cons?

  • To achieve that kissable lips look you have to apply it quite often. Especially for dry lips like mine...so the lip conditioner only lasted for about 2 weeks to 3 weeks.

Verdict? (4 out of 5 lippies)

  • I just love it. I really do.

OVERALL VERDICT?

Dont waste your time and money getting the Clinique one, the Estee Lauder one works amazingly well and I bet the Clinique one would run out the same time as the Estee Lauder one. If you look closely, both brand have the same "stick lenghth", so in terms of quantity, no difference. Honest opinion.. Go get the LIP CONDITIONER from ESTEE LAUDER...makes more sense dont ya think?

Have fun being beautiful.

Till Then Chicas.

Beauty Tips

Hey Ladies!!

Finally back in Singapore... which means I would be a graduate soon!!! (If I pass all my papers). Looking for a job now...but in the mean time...I'll just re-start my blogging passion. Its been long and sad...my blog looks sad doesnt it? Too little updates? Yes I think so too...

Anyways... BEAUTY TIPS

There are several items that we girls MUST have. These items are absolutely necessary.. period.

ITEM NO. 1

Cotton Buds/Q-tips

Cotton buds are extremely important, apart for using it for obvious purposes, cotton buds can also be used to smudge eyeliners for the bottom lid, cleaning smudged mascaras/make-up and for squeezing pimples or blackheads.

I know there are many of you who cannot stand the sight of pimple and even after YOU KNOW that squeezing pimples are a HUGE nono... you still do it. Well..... guilty. I didnt use to be like that but ever since my dilemma with the pimples... I couldnt help myself. But I was always so scared that using a tissue or a cotton pad would create more bacteria for my pimple, so what did I use? Cotton Buds...

Just simply use two cotton buds to squeeze your pimple. By doing this, the chances of your pimple getting more infected is less...good enough reason to try this one out!

ITEM NO. 2

Eyeliner

Seriously. I dont care what anyone esle says, eyeliner are here to stay. For a long long long long time... like forever. Eyeliner really makes a person eyes pop, going from day to evening with an eyeliner and a Q-tip is super easy.

Day Look

Just line your upper lids

Night Look

Line both upper and bottom lids, smudge the bottom lid with the Q-tip to give it a more feathered look. It would make you eyes super sexy.

A tip on how to make your eyeliner stay longer? Line it with a pencil eyeliner first then outline it with a liquid eyeliner. I SWEAR BY THIS. It really does work. Try it.

ITEM NO. 3

Lip Balm

Everyone must must MUST have lip balm in their purse. It doesnt matter what kind/type just one that you like. Nothing is worse than having dry, chapped lips. Seriously...its not very pretty. Trust me I had to experience it coz of my medication and it just looks ghastly.. so yes lip balm people!!!

ITEM NO.4

Matchbox

This is something I got from a fellow blogger. Ever chipped your nails when you are out with your friends? Isnt the sight of chipped nails horrendous? Well, the next time that happens, just get a matchbox from any pubs or restaurant and use the "sandpaper textured" side to file down the nail.

ITEM NO.5

Face Moisturizer

Did you guys know that a face moisturizer can double up as a make-up remover? Didnt know? Well...yes it can. And its actually more gentle than some of those make-up removers in the market. You dont have to scrub your eyes out when using moisturizers...its actually pretty easy.

So go ahead, the next time you forgot to bring your make-up remover or wanna save some dough.. just use your facial moisturizer instead....:)

Thats all I have for now babies... good to be home...:)

Egyptian Magic Cream Update - Way Over Due

Hey Kids...

So remember the day I bought the Egyptian Magic Cream and promised to blog about the effects of it?? Well here it is!!! I know its way over due and I do apologise...(I seem to be apologising alot these pass few entries..heh)

The weather in Perth now perfect...not too hot and not too cold but its very very I repeat very dry. My skin is suffering majorly cause of this...not my face THANKFULLY but the rest of my body...See I have eczema so any dryness will make me look like a prune. Unless I am religious about moisturizing my skin everyday.

I usually apply Cetaphil (moisturizing cream for very sensitive skin), but lately it doesnt seem to help reduce the dryness as much or as fast as I would like. So I decided to slap on some of THE FAMOUS EGYPTIAN MAGIC CREAM.

So whats my verdict?

In all honesty, all the reviews and hype about it....all TRUE. Yes true!!!! Finally a product that is not mass produce to trick us into purchasing it just so they can laugh at our faces later!!

It gets rid of old scars and new scars pretty darn fast!!! I am so elated with this product..seriously!!! I mean I've tried everything from Bio-oil to Rose Hip Oil and nothing worked for the post eczema scars for my skin, but this one definitely works!!! HAPPY AS A BUMBLE BEE!!

As previously mentioned... you lucky people in Singapore can purchase at this retail outlet called True Colours in Takashimaya...it is about $79 I think... this is for people who wants instant gratification...who cant wait a few weeks for postage...people like me...:)

There is howevere another route to this...go on ebay and search for it...it is ALOT cheaper...If I had patience (which I am slowly learning as I have been making more online purchase), I would definitely go for the ebay option.

So people with unsightly scars anywhere....go ahead and try this masterpiece of a product.

PS: I know people who it on the face as well but I rather not coz its kinda oily and you guys know how my face thrive on oil...

Till then chicas..

Progress on Roaccutance

Hey Babies...

Its been a LONGGG time....anyways...

I am happy to report that roaccutane has been doing well for my skin. I do get the occasionally pimples but its not big cystic pimples, more hormonal pimples.

Been taking roaccutance for about 4 months now and am only starting to see the difference and I LIKEY. hahahaha. Havent had the time to take a picture but would definately post one up when I have the time.

Hmmm, the only side effect that I personal experienced from consuming Roaccutane is SUPER DRY LIPS. This was really bad within the first 2 months of taking the medication. However, by drinking LOADS of water and applying MASSIVE amounts of lipbalm helped reduced the dryness of the lips. It got better after the 2nd month.

So my verdict?
I say to anyone who is suffering from bad cystic acne... TRY ROACCUTANE. It is pricy but I assure you its definatelt WORTH IT.

PS: THE FACE SHOP now has an outlet in the CITTTTY (Perth) !!! WEEEE HAAAA ... I know I am a little slow.. hehe

Till Then Chicas ...ITS GRREAT TO BE BACK

Question

I feel like fuck.

How do you react when someone honestly told you that you are fat and flabby, well since the last time the person saw you. Isnt it only human to be upset about that comment for awhile (like maybe 30mins or less)? I knew I asked for complete honesty but I was affected by the answer because I have been extremely religious on my exercise regime in Perth. I was not upset by the person who told me the truth, I was upset at myself for not noticing that I was doing something wrong.

I feel like fuck.

Just when I thought my skin was getting better, 3 more pimples decided to join the acne party on my face. Asked my dermatologist and she informed me that it is completely normal for pimples to pop out within the first month of taking the roaccutane. Great just what I needed, more pimples.

I feel like fuck.

I ask myself every now and then if I am happy. It was always a definate yes previously. But now, I am more doubtful of my answer.

Life is tougher than death. But I enjoy life, I really do. In fact, I love life. I just dont understand it at times, thats all.

Till Then Chicas,

Another apology

I know this is getting annoying...but please forgive me...I dont know whats gotten into me...I am just tooo effin lazy to update my blog, maybe its becuase of the notorious (i know, not a good adjective to describe the weather) sun and heat in Singapore. I must admit though its cooling down nicely this pass few days.

Random note:

I am still very much in love with make-up but it seems that I dont play around with it as much lately because of my skin. Remember I told you how horrendous it was/still is....well went to a dermatologist Dr Ang Por and she prescribed me Roaccutance. She warned me of the side effects but because of beauty sake I am willing to endure it.

Been taking on for almost 3 weeks now and I must say its pretty good. My acne is clearing up well and my scars seems to be lightening as well.

Side Effects (personal experience)
  • Very dry lips (cracks soooo badly, you need to apply like lip balm every 1/2 an hour, no joke)
  • Your skin would be dry too, so moisturizer is a MUST
  • You MUST drink TONS of water, at least 2 litres or more if not your skin and lips would be even more dry. I didnt take the whole drinking thing seriously, and my lips bled and cracked and it was damn painful. Water helps...so please do drink.
  • It is a very strong drug so please please please follow the rules.

DO NOT (VERY IMPORTANT)

  • Get pregant when you are on Roaccutane as it is very toxic for the baby. The baby would either die or be deformed
  • However, your chances of getting pregant with a healthy fetus would not be jepordized once you are completely off the medication. So mummy wannabes, no worries, your wishes for a happy family would still come true with the addition of beautiful SKIN.

The doctor advised me to take the medication for about 6 to 8 months. Sigh hate being on daily meds, its very troublesome. But for beauty, I'll do it. I'll be posting more on health related and beauty stuff rather than make-up. So please do drop by yea? I'm going to update my blog MORE OFTEN. PROMISE!

PS: This is drug/medication is so potent and strong that a waiver form have to be signed once you have agreed to the roaccutane. This is to ensure that you are not currently pregant or are not planning to have a baby. I knwo right, kinda scary.

Till then chicas...

I'm BACK

I know right, whats with the lack of updates...well coz I have been soo busy with school and have finally just arrived in Singapore...well about 2 days ago but I had some (and more) catching up to do...so apologies to my readers.

I have to share a lil heartbreaking news....my face is a horror site...pimples think that my face is a playground for reproduction and has been reproducing (variety of shapes and sizes) all around my face...esp the cheeks, chin and forehead...Its bad real bad. So bad that when I met my family and friends, they went like...aiyo what happen to your face (with that OMG your face condition is damn bad facial expression). So yes I am sooo not exxagerating.

Cant wait to go to Dr Ang Por this coming wednesday. To people who want to consult with her, you better make an early appointment coz I tried making one last thursday and next wednesday was the EARLIEST available slot. So yes she is that good and popular.

During the last 2 weeks in Perth this semester, I have been using Proactive (given by my best friend in Perth and sil) and it actually does work. I tried the trial size ones when I back in Singapore last year and it didnt do shit for my face. Apparently, there has been rumours that the Proactive in Australia and Singapore are different. Alot of users claim that the one in Singapore does not work and the one in Australia does. I did not know this until I tried the Proactive in Australia and was amazed to find out that it actually worked. When I told my sil about it, she then told me the little rumour. So yea, go figure. I say purchase Proactive online.

Nothing much to say except...pray for my face people pray!! I will pray for yours too...hehehe...everyone is beautiful...you just have to realize it first...until you do, plastic surgery is a GREAT option (hahahah...I SO KID)

Dermatologist review

I cant wait to return to Singapore. I need a dermatologist badly. I dont trust the ones in Perth coz I am afraid they would not know how to treat Asian skin. So I am going to wait till I return home. In the meantime, here are some thoughts on the few Derma that I had been to.

Dr Joyce Lim

Experience
  • The receptionist at the clinic were extremely unfriendly almost to point of being rude.
  • I had to wait for a further hour although I had already made an appointment
  • Receptionist then showed me to consultation room where I had to wait for a further 15 mins
  • Dr Joyce Lim was finally ready to see me.....FOR FRIGGIN 5 MINS...NO I AM NOT EXXXXXXXXXAGERATING!!!
  • When I wanted to ask her questions regarding my skin, she didnt see the importance to answer my question and just on explaining whatever she was explaining before.
  • She is a cold person.
  • Not friendly.
  • She even told me that whatever creams I use, it would NEVER remove my acne scars. She insisted that the only way is to do laser treatments. Funny. My previous scars are gone now.

Lotions and Potions

  • Her stuff does really work
  • The best one is her sunscreen cream...SPF 70

Price

  • Pricy as hell.

Verdict

I went back to her two after the first visit. I finally decided to stop going when I had to wait for close to 2 hours just to see her despite making an appointment. Her receptionist were rude and I hate rude people. I need a doctor who cares, she doesnt give a rat's ass.

Where to find her

Dermatology Associates - Dr Ang Por

Experience

  • Appointment necessary.
  • Waiting time less than 15 mins.
  • Recep girls were very very friendly
  • Dr Ang Por is my favourite, she is soooo nice and she list down all the options for you and explain each option in detail. Afterwhich, she would recommend the best option for your skin
  • She is super friendly
  • She really does care for your skin
  • Makes you feel very comfortable and happy knowing that there is "hope" (ok la a lil dramatic on my part)

Lotions and Potions

  • Very light
  • I love it .... nuff said

Price

  • Way cheaper than the (I think I am the best in Singapore) doctor above

Overall Verdict

  • I love Dr Ang Por!! She is seriously the bomb. Hahahaha.

Address

290, Orchard Road#15-05/06, Paragon (Office Tower)Singapore 238859

SYY Skin Club

Experience

  • Friendly staff. Appointment necessary
  • Picture of your face would be taken
  • The doctor was alright I cant even remember his name, thats how insignificant the experience was to me
  • It was just damn BLAH

Lotions and Potions

  • I kinda like it, it really makes your face radiant.
  • Its esp good for people with like bad textured skin but I wouldnt recommend if you are acne prone.

Price

  • Reasonable for sure, not like U KNOW WHO
  • Oh and their treatments like chemical peels and stuff are really cheap. Like $80.00 per session or something close to that.

Overall Verdict

  • I loved their products. Hmmm... maybe I should go back huh...hahaha..

Address

391 Orchard Road#05-14 NGEE ANN CITY Singapore 238872Contact : 67386771Fax : 67382307

(They might have moved to Liat Towers, I am not sure. But the number remains the same)

Dr KC Tan Skin Clinic

Experience

  • I go there more for eczema than for my acne problems
  • The receptionist there are the best ever!!! I super love them. Very Very Very nice.
  • He is the cutest sweetest doctor you can ever meet!!! Seriously, he really really cares.
  • But again, I think he is more specialized for like eczema or like skin dieseases rather then acne and stuff.
  • I did try to go to him for acne once, and well he recommend a few things to clear my acne.
  • Basically he just doesnt have those private brand lotions and stuff like other dermatologist

Lotions and Potions

  • Definately works

Price

  • He is alright, not too bad

Overall Verdict

  • Will always go to him for my eczema issues..

Oatmeal Face Mask

Something I learnt off an internet site...

1) What you need?

Ingredient ONE
OATMEAL
Oatmeal is very good for minor skin irritations caused by sensitivies to certain skin care products, chemicals or the environment. It also helps to balance your skin's moisture.

Ingredient TWO
HONEY
Honey is good to treat minor acne problems and also acts as a good moisturizer.

Ingredient THREE
YOGURT

Yogurt helps to reduce redness caused by irritations of inflammations from acne. (Mild acne)

2) Directions

Mix two tablespoon of oatmeal, two tablespoon of yogurt and a teaspoon of honey in a clean bowl

Mix the ingredients together until it becomes a paste. (Add a little warm water about a teaspoon if necessary)

Hmmmm ...... YUMMM!! NOT!

Slap the paste all over your face evenly.

VERDICT - 2/5 lippies

I didnt really like it. Didnt make my face feel so soft or anything. I do have very sensitive skin so maybe my face was not recetive to some of the products...although natural...it didnt seem to work for me.

However, I do know of many people who have claim that this mask is WONDERFUL. So why not try it for yourself. Its not expensive and if you dont like it you can eat the ingredients bought afterwards...HAH!!

Have fun trying!!

Talent

Talent is so superficial nowadays. Meaning. Being beautiful = TALENT. LOAD OF BULL.

Want to see real true talent?? Click HERE

Never ever judge a book by its cover. EVER. I mean lets admit that this person is not physically fortunate (looks department) but her voice is huge and it is quite amazing! Kinda makes you want to dance around on top of a hill with wind blowing in your hair...hahaha...well kinda..

First reactions when I first saw her

Dress: Ugly
Hair: Needs help DESPERATELY
Attitude: Someone I would want to have tea with, she looks like she makes good scones
Talent: Honestly, although she looks the way she looked, I actually thought that she knew what she was getting into. So thats why I was not amazed when she could do what she did and she did it reallllll well. BRAVO

So remember you beautiful people out there....I hate you I would so choose looks over talent..hahahahahahah...KIDDING...really I am...

Good on you Susan Boyle. Good on you.

All about Lip Balms

Hey Guys,

My lips are super dry here so I have been buying a number of lip balms in hope it might save my lips from being DEAD.

Lippie Balms Bought

Nivea Lip Care - LIGHT KISS

Pros
  • Cheap
  • Nice Sheer texture
  • Quite Moisturizing

Cons

  • I dont like the taste of it (think vanilla icing on your lips) its just weird for me
  • Doesnt last long, it goes off within like what 10mins!
  • I dont really like pot balms, its very troublesome

Verdict

Its teh-na-na (2 out of 5 lippies)

Carmex (For Cold Sores)

Ok so I dont think many of you would get this in Singapore, I dont think many Singaporeans or people living in Singapore had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a cold sore. I DID. AND IT SUCKED.
Basically this balm is to help reduce cold sores on your lips and let me tell ya guys, if you ever have it BUY THIS. It totalllllly helps. Like within 2 days my lips were back to normal.
Pros
  • Totally works

Cons

  • Ugly packaging (very medication like)
  • Again the whole pot balm thingy
  • Smells funky
  • I didnt care for the colour of the balm either

Overall Verdict

Ok doctor! I'll use it only when I have to! 4 out of 5 lippies (just coz it did helped my cold sore)

Nivea Lip Care - Strawberry Kiss

Pros
  • It smells AMAHH-ZING
  • Convenient
  • It leaves your lips looking slighty reddish pink
  • Healthy looking lips
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Hmmm, NONE I LOVE IT

Overall Verdict

WINNNNAH!! 5 OUT OF 5 LIPPIES!! YAY

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1

Pros

  • It really is Number 1, super moisturizing

Cons

  • I wished it came in a lipstick form, more convenient
  • The texture is like vaseline so your fingers gets a little eeky after
  • It is kinda pricy for a lip balm - I think S$15 for a tube?

Overall Verdict

If only it was cheaper 3.5 out of 5 lippies

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment

I was introduced to this when I first got to Australia. It's been my love since then.

Pros

  • Oh its just so super moisturizing, it soooo good
  • It looks so good on-top of lipstick, I know you can use other balms but this one makes your lips looks sooo yummy
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Its vaseline texture makes it a lil eeky on the fingers
  • I dont really care for the taste and smell (kinda funky)

Overall Verdict

WINNNNAHWINNER!! SUPER WINNER!! 6 OUT OF 5 LIPPIES

P.S: Those of you who would like to have it, just let me know. I can get some before I go home to Singapore.

So yes, that concludes my review on lip balms. Boring to some, totally exciting to me.

Skin Skin Skin

Heya Dollies,

Why am I so freaking obsessed with my skin. Seriously its an addiction. I am so sick of it! Ok I am lying, I love being obsessed about my skin. If only it was worth obsessing about. Anyhues, I went to a nearby mall a few days ago and chanced upon this ACNE thingy called Thermaclear Acne Device. Its soooooooo something I NEED. NOT A WANT A NEED.

BEHOLD - MY WISHLIST FOR THIS WEEK...(changes quite often)
THE ONE AND ONLY THERMACLEAR

What is it? (All info taken from http://www.shavershop.com.au/)
ThermaClear is the first acne clearing device in Australia. Using thermal energy to kill acne-causing bacteria, ThermaClear clears blemishes and pimples upto 4 times faster than leaving them untreated.
How does it work?
ThermaClear uses a short, controlled, and very targeted pulse of heat to neutralize the bacteria that causes the pimple, allowing it to heal faster. The thermal pulse triggers a dual-action response, neutralizing acne-causing bacteria from above, while also stimulating the body’s own acne fighting proteins from below. This dual mechanism fights pimples on two fronts, clearing them in as little as 24 hours.
Directions
I guess just zap the machine on your zit...heh...I am not sure YET...I am so determine to get it. (Oooo i heard it hurts when you zap your zits...that sounds promising O_0)
Price?
Sadly...its AUS$199.95....so I really need to save for this one...BUT I WILL...like i said...I NEED IT
Anyone wanna donate AUS$200.00? I'll accept!!! Hahahaha..mummy? hahahaha...j/k...
A relatively long but insightful review on this little must have. I want it so badly.
Sigh

Mario Bedescu

Hey Dollies,

Been super busy with school and family coming over to Perth. But a beauty junkie will always remain a beauty junkie, even in busy times.

As you guys may already know, I have been attacked by the pimple army. My face is full of unsightly gross ugly big yucky ewww mother freakin pimples.

WARNING! PIMPLY FACE AHEAD .... I AM SO BRAVE! I AM SO BRAVE!
HIDUP MAU BERANI
LOOOK AT EM' PIMPLES
(this was when it was super bad)

Ok guys before you guys judge, my face was NEVER like this before. I mean I had pimples before but it never got this bad. EVER. So I was extremely devasted when it happened.

The doctor told me I was allergic to some product coz I have SUPER sensitive skin...but the problem was, I wasnt using anything new to my face. Thats when she concluded it was the sun. Just not use to it. So I had to take some pills and some antibiotic cream. Its better now but there are tons of pimple left. Not so bad but still there is.

My friend introduced me to this product called 'THE DRYING LOTION' by Mario Bedescu (pronounced...BA-DES-Q). Its an amazing product I tell ya. You see for people who have acne you will never stop finding answers or products to cure your ance so ya I gave this product a try. I LOVE IT.
BEHOLD! MY LOVE (for now)

I'll give you guys a more detailed review on it. I am falling asleep on my laptop. So tired.

Diane 35

Hey Dollies,

Lets talk about acne. Its ugly, horrendous, unacceptable, expensive, awkward and frightening. Now lets get it of rid or prevent it. With What? Diane 35

Dian35 is also doubles up as a contraceptive pill. I reckon its more well known for its acne busting purposes though. Or at least that's how the product is being marketed.

I was pescribed Diane35 before and stopped because my boobs were getting bigger and if you know me I really dont need the enhancement. I dont know of any other people getting that "side effect" but I did and I totally hated it. But it worked wonders for my skin. Seriously, no more acne and my skin was definately brighter and healthier looking. So yes I want to start on this pill again.

I know it retails for about S$35 for a month's supply but you have to get yourself checked with a GP first. Afterwhich, you can go in to the clinic and just purchase it over the counter. So any of you with bad acne and just dont know what to do anymore, I highly suggest that you go to your nearest clinic and ask more about this pill. LOVES IT.
PS: This is just my own personal experience with taking the pill, results may vary with individuals. So please please consult a doctor first so that you have full understanding of the pill. Alternatively you may visit this website .... DIANE 35
PPS: My skin is getting better but a hella lotta scars. HATE IT.

BAD SKIN

Hey Ladettes,

It seems that the Australia Sun literally HATES ME. I am not used to this type of HARSH sun. Its dammmmmmmn sunny and bright but not HUMID. Great for some but sooo bad for my skin. Its so horrible that I had to go to the doctor this morning to get some anti-inflam pills. Note that i did not and never will go tanning here. It just happen that my walks from the carparks to school or shopping centres did damage to my face.

I am so upset that I literally feel like crying. I know vain. I would show you guys but its so horrendous that I rather keep the ugly to myself. I am not being a drama queen. I am just being very very very me.

So please tolerate with me as I am instructed not to put any type of make-up on my face. I will do reviews on certain products that I have used before but I cant test any new ones just yet. I was so excited to conduct my first make-up tutorial when ugly decided to attach itself onto my face. Once again my apologies, or rather I am aplogizing on behalf of MR AUSTRALIA SUN

Chris Brown and Rihanna

Hey Girlies,

Just a quick blogdate. I have been reading that Chris Brown and Rihanna are back together. Sigh, there goes my chances of being the only loyal fan of Chris Brown. Oh wells, I just hope she knows what she is doing.

Honestly, I reckon she must have provoked him somehow for him to have reacted the way he did. Although this does not by any means justify his actions, I mean the girl can be quite a diva no? Be well Chris Brown and Rihanna.

Naughty Elephant The Penguin

Hey Girlies,

Sorry for the lack of updates.Once Again.

I have been internetless for last couple of days, all thanks to my dear cuddly (NOT) bunny, Elephant The Penguin.

I let him out of his cage everyday, supervised. But just so happen a few days ago I was extremely exhausted and fell asleep on my couch. With him still loose running around my apartment.

I woke up and there he was looking at me. I thought, "awww so cute my baby looking at me sleep". So I went to my computer and attempted to go online. After about NINE times of trying, I finally realised that the MODEM itself was not lighted up! And here is the reason why...

ARTWORK DONE BY ELEPHANT THE PENGUIN
THIS WAS WHAT HE DID TO MY MODEM ADAPTER!!

THIS WAS WHAT I WANTED TO DO TO HIM!!!
(ANIMAL LOVERS: Dont worry I didnt, this is an image I found on the web)

He is sooooo not looking cute to me right now!!! I had to drive all around PERTH to get that adapter. Perth is not like Singapore, where anything and everything can be easily found. Argggghhh...So ya! Thats my story.
My life is Perth. How exciting.
So again, my apologies for the delays in the update. I'll do a picture make-up tutorial tomorrow.

Benetint, Poise

Hey Dollies,

I bought this little magic potion before departing from Singapore.

POSIE TINT

What is it?

The cheekiest flush you can get from a bottle. Our petal-pink stain plants a kiss see-through tint on cheeks & lips. With hours of smudge-proof, just-picked perfection, you'll be the preetiest bloom in the bunch! (Marketing people..genius)

Directions?

Brush three strokes on the apple of the cheek and blend quickly with fingertips. Do the same on the other cheek. Dot on lips & blend with fingertip. For deeper pop of colour, repeat.

For the lips, i recommend putting on lipgloss after. Makes your lips pop out a little more.

Price?

I got mine for about S$60.00 from DFS but I think its about S$67.00.

Where can I get it?

Sephora located at Ngee Ann City.

Pros?

  • Its very light and have such a pretty colour.
  • Very natural and makes your lips look so fresh
  • Great for a natural look

Cons

  • I feel that the colour isnt very strong, thus for the natural look is good
  • It doesnt last as long as it claims

Overall - 4 out of 5 lippies

I mean I totally love the light pink colour. Its very flattering espcially if you have fair skin. But you would need to put another coat of like powder blush over this as it doesnt have a strong colour. But I LOVE. I LOVE THE NATURAL SPRING FLOWER LOOK.

Hope you guys find this review useful..

Oh my why...Chris Brown

My long time "lover" Chris Brown is in the dumps...he has been charged for felony domestic battery...those of you who are not aware of what happened between Chris Brown and Rihanna...please click HERE

How can he do such a thing...everyone is hating on him right now...It is absolutely wrong of him to have done what he did. Sources revealed that he must have been provoked or something for him to have "hit" Rihanna but that is no excuse for a man to violently touch a woman. NO EXCUSE.

So here is my plan...since every now is like hating him right now...I shall be the only one who still believes in him and continue to support his music. Then right he might notice me and then he will become mine.FOREVER.HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....FREAK!....

Ok but in all honesty...my heart goes out to Rihanna...My heart goes out to her and I hope she is doing better each day...We women have to stick together...:)

WHY CHRIS BROWN WHY!!

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! KILL ME NOW!!!!! ITS OUT OF STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I have been reading so much about this miracle cream. ONE CREAM is all it takes to remove everything we hate. Except for FATNESS. Anyhues, this cream promises to remove scars, improves complexion, relieves dry skin, makes hair super shiny and more. This product was firstly used by dermotologists and plastic surgeons for patients who has just undergone surgery. Prolly for scarring and healing purposes. NOW. ITS A MUST HAVE FOR ALLLLLL. AND I MEAN ALLL.

CLICK HERE to read more articles on it.

It retails for about $25USD dollars. Plus shipping and all its prolly gonna reach maybe $30 something USD. You would have to wait for about 1- 3 weeks shipping time. But you know me...I dont have that kinda patience. So I came across this blogsite that mentioned a retail outlet in Singapore that sells it. I read it this morning and was out the door by 2pm.

Tragically, the store has ran out. ZERO.NONE. They brought it in like only 2 months ago and everything is gone. All gone. They said stock would come it like next week but I would also be gone by then...back to Perth. I dont know if they sell it there but I must try to find it. I NEED TO FIND IT!!!!!!!!!! SIGH...

Retail outlet in Singapore - True Colours (Ngee Ann City)(Basement One)($79.90)

REVIEW - KERASTASE

Hey Dollies!!

Bought me some Kerastase hair products.

1)
Kerastase - Volumising Shampoo

What is it?

Volumising shampoo for fine and vulnerable hair. Consolidates the hair structure from the root and gives long-lasting body and volume.

Directions?

Its a shampoo. So use it how you would use any shampoo. Oh BUT!! please...a small amount goes a long long way. This product lathers up quite nicely.

Price?

I bought mine from those shops that wholesale lots of beauty products and stuff (Peaches & Herbs located at basement 1 at Parkway Parade Shopping Centre). It cost me $25.90. If you buy from the salons, its gonna cost you at least $40plus.

Pros

  • Smells heavenly
  • Really does give your hair the extra oomph it needs (IF YOU HAVE FINE HAIR)
  • Lathers up quite well, so like aforementioned - small amount goes a long way

Cons

  • Its pricy - $25.90 for like a 250ml bottle for a shampoo

Overall Verdict - 3.5 out of 5 lippies

ABSOLUTE LOVE

The only reason why I am not giving this product more lippies is because of the price. It is very steep for a person like me (STUDENT). But other than that....its my LOVE. Been using this product for more than 6 months now. A bottle would last me for about 1 month plus? maybe slightly longer? So yep.Love.

2)

Kerastase - Oleo Relax

What is it?

Ultimate control for extremely unmanageable hair. Perfect smoothing of hair from roots to end.

Directions?

Apply 1 to 2 pumps into towel-dried hair.

Price?

$38.90 for a 50ml bottle. Again I bought it from Peaches & Herbs from Parkway Parade.

Pros

  • Smells Fantabulous
  • Seriously when applied onto your hair....your hair feels absolutely GLORIOUS!!! Your hair feels so soft so silkly sooooooo gooood
  • This bottle can last you for more than 3 months depending on the number of pumps you use....so its worth the $38.90

Cons

  • NOTHING....LOVE IT

Overall Verdict - 4.5 out of 5 lippes

Ok seriously people, this is such a fantastic product. You so need have must want to try this PRODUCT. ITS FANTABULOUS!!!

By the way...KERASTASE has been my love for a long time. So now I am finally sharing my hair secrets to you guys. I know how sweet of me eh? hehe...
