Sigh..healthy TIME

Alright so Monday comes and I am suppose to start my weight loss/healthy/beautiful skin journey. My plan is going to be based mostly on the eat right 4 your type plan. However, after reading tons and tons weight loss/health books, I have decided to combine a few of them together so as to make my life easier, a plan that is more suiting to my lifestyle.

Before I begin, I have learnt that my body should be detoxed. It is not advisable to immediately go into a weight loss programme as this might cause SHOCK to your body system. As such, this week I will slowly eliminate most wheat out of my eating plans as well as most sugared foods.

I will start a detoxification on Wednesday - 2 days enough time for some crap to get out of my system. A 3-day detox and then the full change of life-style plan will come....yay!...

Tomorrow - PALM READING!

Till Then Bellas...

Majolica - Shiseido

I'm pretty sure many of you have heard of Shiseido. A brilliant brand which offers a wide range of skin care and make-up line. What is also fantastic about Shiseido is the fact that most of its products are catered towards Asian skin.

Majolica

The awesome people from Shiseido has introduced a line of "lower-range" cosmetics called Majolica. YAY!!! Now students like me can purchase make-up at a more affordable price without comprimising on the quality of the product. Whats even more exciting is that these Majolica products are packaged sooooo beautifully that its almost a waste not to purchase them.

Majolica has been out in Singapore for a few months now and are sold in Watsons islandwide (I THINK). I havent gone out to purchase any yet but I sure will. I love the packaging sooooo much!! Its tooo cute to resist.

Blood Type Diet

It seems to me that I have been posting more on health products rather than beauty products. Its just that I feel that beauty starts skin deep. Having smooth, beautiful and healthy skin would allow someone to capture their own unique natural beauty. Dont get me wrong, I love my make-up and how it can create certain features that I lack of. However, it just feels good knowing that you can go out of the house without having to put on ANY make up and know for sure that you still look good or healthy at least. Ok enough with the ranting...

What is the Blood Type Diet?

The EAT RIGHT 4 YOUR TYPE diet book basically teaches readers what to eat and not what to eat base on your blood type. Somehow, the author and founder of the diet/book claims that there is a connection between blood types and our dietary elements.

My blood type is O, so according to the diet, wheat is extremely bad for me. Rice based things are alright, corn is a big no no and we mostly thrive on animal proteins. Somehow, this does makes sense. I eat lots of bread, pasta and noodles which are mostly wheat based - Although not in huge portions, I do consume these items on a regular basis.

I always question when some of my friends consume a HUGE quantity of carbs and never put on weight. The answer might lie in their blood type. Hmmmm...could it be?

BLOOD TYPE O BOOK

I purchased this book like 3 years ago. (Thus, the condition of the book) It is written by the same author, however it is only for people with blood type O. I read the book and was determine to follow the diet but I guess that didnt happened. Now 3 years in the future, I am starting to hear rave reviews about the diet. So many people have loss weight without even really trying. And that to me is extremely attractive. So this time, as you guys are my witness, I will follow this diet and let you know what the outcome is.

Protein Blend Powder - Blood Type O

Lucky us, there is now a MyType retail outlet in Singapore. Books and products based on this diet can be found in these shops. I purchased a PROTEIN BLEND POWDER which can act as a meal replacement (the blend that I bought is sepcially catered to blood type O, other blood types blends are available). I have these type of powders before and trust me, they can be very filling. I plan to replace only one meal a day as I love food too much.

I'm sooo excited!! Cant wait to try it out. I'll give a more detailed review once I've tried it out!!If learn more about this diet click HERE.

PS: I want to be as skinny as Nicole Richie - Who cares if she looks sick at least she is thin. (HAHAHAHAHA...ok just kidding...or am I....hehehe)

Question of the day - Why must I be FAT..........................................................HAH! No its not about losing weight its about having a healthier well -being = good skin = look better in clothes = more confidence = better in picture ....ok I am totally contradicting myself..haha

Till then...

Tea Time

Happy Saturday!!

TEA
Tea. A famous beverage especially in Asian culture. It has been made to believe that regular consumption of tea offer health benefits. I personally feel that this is true. Many detox plans out there encourages one to drink plenty of tea, especially green tea.

Pink Rose Buds
I recently went to a Parkway Parade and bought a packet of pink rose buds from an aromatherapy/tea shop. They are located at basement 1 directly opposite Chamelon (sorry if i didnt get the spelling right). Its $11.70 for 30grams.

Benefits

  1. Good for anti-depressant
  2. Highly rejuvenating
  3. Aid in perserving beauty and youth
  4. Reduces cholesterol levels
  5. Aid in hormonal imbalance
  6. Rich in VITAMIN C & PRIMROSE OIL (two ingredients great for the skin)

Directions

Put 3-4 rose buds in a cup of boiling water and leave to infuse for about 10 minutes

Taste

It has a very light refreshing taste, it is also mildly sweet. Nothing too overpowering.

Verdict - 3 out of 5 lippies

I feel healthier when drinking the tea, but it might be all psychological. I have only been drinking it for the last two days so I dont think the effect can be seen straight away.

It taste good, it looks pretty and it is supposedly good for my well-being and my skin - I'll keep drinking it!!

I wouldnt mind visiting the shop again to purchase more teas. My friend told me that I could get these "special" teas at local supermarkets at a cheaper price, but I rather purchase from the shop. Although a little pricy, they seem to know what they are selling and their products seem authentic. Supermarket ones might not be as authentic.

Face Reading

Ever heard of face reading? More of a eastern belief than a western belief, face reading has been used by many traditional Far East practitioners which includes China and Japan. It is believed that by reading faces, one can tell the type of illness one has and the type of food one should avoid.

Today I will be explaining a very simple exercise on how to face read. The diagram below indicates the different organs the face represents. These areas can either be oily, rough or wet. Each texture indicates a certain condition.

Our Face

Rough

Rough skin area indicates that one has consumed excess animal fats. An abundance of saturated fats in the diet produces a hard texture in the skin. Try reducing intake of animal fat and pile on fruits and vegetables.

Oily

Oily skin area results from eating too much oil (fried foods) and from overeating. Overeating causes the excess food to turn into fats which comes out of the skin as oil. Try reducing the amount of food prepared with oil (fried food). Try preparing food the healthy way such as steaming, boiling or baking. Or simple, food in thier natural state. Such as fresh salads prepared with the slightest bit of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.

Wet

Excess liquid on skin indicates overconsumption of water or other liquids. People with this type of condition usually sweat more easily and have sweaty palms. These people are said to be most likely suffering from overburdened kidneys and sometimes overworked heart.

Try reading the faces of some people you know. After reading, ask them about some problems they may have internally. If it connects with your face analysis, then viola! It works. I have tried it on some of my friends and about 40% of it were true. Just give it a shot! Its fun!

Till next time...

Its soaking time!!!

Oh my pooor tired feet....I have been walking around alot and its killing my feet!! Ok, I'm kidding...haha...I havent been doing anything much since coming back from Perth. But I just needed a reason to soak my feet just for the sake of pampering myself. But with the whole recession thingy that is going around, I thought why not give myself a home-made "soak me feet" treatment. I found three "I HAVE TO TRY" recipes and I am certain you guys would enjoy.

Soaks are a fantabulous way to cleanse and soothe tired feet. Even if you think your feet arent tired, they probably are. So try it!!!

Pineapple Soak

Pineapple contains an enzyme which breaks down dead skin cells. This soak is especially effective when followed with a smoothing exfoliating treatment.

Potions Needed
  1. Warm Tap Water
  2. 2 Cups of Pineapple Juice

Instructions

  1. Pour juice into the basin
Fill the basin with warm water about halfway
  2. Soak your feet for about 5 - 10 minutes
  3. Follow with a sugar rub (or any exfoliating scrubs) for best results

Minty Foot Soak

This is a refreshing foot soak, perfect as part of a full pedicure or all on its own.

Potions Needed
  1. Warm Water
  2. 3 Herbal Mint Tea Bags

Instructions

  1. Place teabags in basin
  2. Fill the basin halfway (ideally to your ankles) with warm water
  3. Soak your feet for about 5 - 10 minutes

Lavender Salt Soak

Epsom salts soothe aching, tired feet and reduce swelling. Epsom's salts can be found in most drugstores/pharmacies in Singapore.

Potions Needed

  1. 1/4 Cup of Epsom salts
  2. Warm Water
  3. 5 - 10 drops of lavender essential oil (or essential oil of your choice)

Instructions

  1. Pour salt into basin
  2. Fill the basin halfway with warm water
  3. Add essential oils (5 - 10 drops)
  4. Soak feet for about 5 - 10 minutes
I have tried them all but my personal favourite has got to be the Minty Foot Soak. Your feet feels so light and refreshed after the treatment. Go on! Have a feet soaking party and have fun!!
