Mascara Review - Finally

Hey Kids,
Just got back from my Europe trip. One word. Beautiful. Now lets move on to business. Highly anticipated Mascara Review. Hah. I have decided to do the eyeliner and mascara reviews separately cause I just feel like it. So lets get a move on shall we?

Rimmel is a well known "drug store" cosmetics brand which originated from... yep you guessed it!...London. I believe it is now available in Singapore, Watsons and we all should be very happy and thankful to the smart people at Watsons for bringing the brand into this country where longer, fuller lashes are much needed.

First Up!

1) Rimmel Glam' Eyes Mascara

First of all....BRAVO RIMMEL. BRAVO. This is one of the best mascaras I have ever owned. I love how flexible the brush is (so its easy to reach the inner corner lashes) and how pretty the packaging of the tube is. But most importantly, it separates your lashes beautifully and really delivers on its volume and lengthening promises.

Overall Verdict
5 out of 5 lippies

2) Rimmel Magnif' Eyes

This particular mascara is suppose to "open" up your eyes by lengthening your eye lashes. One word. Crap. Didnt do much for my lashes. Hated it. Waste of money. Dont get it.

Overall Verdict
-1 out of 5 lippies

3) Rimmel Sexy Curves

As the name suggests, this mascara is suppose to curl your lashes with a lengthening effect. What can I say about this one... hmmm... its alright I suppose. Its not as bad as the "thing" I mentioned above but not as good as I thought it would be. Someone the brush feels kinda hard on my lashes and it kinda hurts when I apply it on. It might just be me...but I dunno. You get the effect of the curve not much but you can definately see it.

Overall Verdict
2.5 out of 5 lippies

Loreal... you guys all know about Loreal right? So I shall not bore you with their details.

1) Loreal Volume/Shocking Mascara

Happy I'm in love with my best friend. Lalalala. I LOVE IT!! Absolute LOVE. It is sooooo goood. And the comb on this thing...FANTASTIC. The mascara wand itself looks like a comb so its great for separating your lashes. The gold colour wand is an enchancer (applied first) is also great!! This one really helped me out alot. Girls with really sparse lashes....this one is definately the one for you!!! Note though that this is more for volume rather than length. Length wise....it wasnt too great.

Overall Verdict
4.5 out of 5 lippies

2) Loreal Double Essence Mascara

This one is very similar to the Volume/Shocking mascara but not as good. I dont know, some people have said that its the best mascara they have ever used but I dont really care much for this one. I mean it looks like it would be great but really....its just ok.

Overall Verdict - You can Skip IT
3 out of 5 lippies

Maybe she's born with it. Maybe she's maybelline. Nuff said.

1) Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

This one is great if you want that natural looking mascara look but a total nonsense if you want to appear like you have fuller lashes. So naturally, me not wanting the too natural look completely hates this mascara. This mascara should be best friends with the Rimmerl Magnif' Eyes mascara. They should hold hands or wands (hahaha) and jump off the bridge or something cause honestly...they suck. I know alot of make-artist like to use this brand for photoshoots but I hate it. If I had my kryptonite..this would be it.

Overall Verdict
-3 out of 5 lippies

2) Maybelline XXL Mascara

The only XXL thing about this mascara is the width of the tube. Everything esle is just plain wrong. It clumps, its fat and it doesnt work. Dont waste your money girls.

Overall verdict
1 out of 5 lippies

3) Maybelline Full and Soft Mascara

Ok so I know I dont really dig the natural look but when I feel playin' my lips up I'll go subtle on the eyes and thats when this one comes is handy. It does give you that ommph that you need but not so dramatically. I really love this one too. Its great and it doesnt make your lashes feel HARD or BREAKABLE. Good mascara.

Overall Verdict
3.5 out of 5 lippies
I absolutely love Cover Girl. But sadly it has been discontinued in Singapore for whatever reason so unfortunately you cant get this brand here. But bless your little hearts cause Internet has the power to make every one of you happy. Online Shopping babies.
1) Cover Girl Lash Blast
Ladies!!! Screaaam!!! This is the best MASCARA EVER invented by any MANUFACTURER!!! It is realllll good like seriously, seriously FANTASTIC. If any of you ever get the chance to buy it...grab it. Coz it just good. Volume - Checked. Length - Checked. Gorgeous Lashes - Double Checked.
Overall Verdict - Dont get it if you dont want beautiful lashes
6 out of 5 lippies
So the best mascaras are ........ WINNAHHHHH
Rimmel Glam' Eyes and Cover Girl Lash Blast!!!!!
Sorry if I was harsh on some of the reviews but I am extremely passionate when it comes to mascaras... hahahaha
PS: All the reviews are done on drugstore mascaras so all prices ranges between 15 to 25 $S.

Clinique Intensive Lip Treatment

Heyo Hoohas..

I am currently addicted to lip balms or lip treatments. I think women with soft and luscious lips are beautiful. It just frames or rather enhance a person's face...well thats what I think anyways.

So I went on a lip balm/treatment rampage online and saw a review on Clinique's Intensive Lip Treatment. Review read something like this....long lasting moisture which keeps your lips soft throughout the day... SOLD!

Went for dinner with the family yesterday and decided to get one. Initial reaction? SUPER SHOCK! It is sooo freaking expensive for a lip treatment and honestly way expensive for a Clinique product. But being a beauty sucker that I am... I caved and bought it.

Note: I will also be doing a review on Estee Lauder's Lip Conditioner.

Item 1
Product
Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment

What does it claim to do?
(Information was shamelessly plagiarized from their website http://www.clinique.com/)
Intensive lip treatment helps repair the look of wrinkles on and around lips. Provides antioxidant protection against the environment. Boosts natural collagen production. Replenishes natural moisture barrier so lips stay soft, hydrated.

What it actually does? (Personal Experience)
  • It is very moisturizing to the point of it being thick
  • Lips does have an illusion of being fuller
  • Lips definitely feels smoother and softer
  • Need to apply several times for it to remain that way...however not as often as other lip treatments

Pros?

  • Nice Packaging (Very Clinique)
  • Nice taste (not your normal lippy taste)
  • It works...but not assss much as I expected it too..but then again my expectations for things can be quite ridiculous so..

Cons?

  • Ridiculously expensive (S$57.00)

Verdict? (3 out of 5 lippies) - not happy about the price

It is a good product not FANTASTIC. Definitely one of the better ones that I have tried... but seriously though... S$57???!?!?!

Item 2

Product

Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner

What does it do? (Information taken from http://www.esteelauder.com/)
Hydrates, smooths, comforts and protects lips , SPF 15 sunscreen , Vitamins C and E , Shea Butter and other naturally derived moisturizers

What it actually does? (Personal Experience)

  • Everything it said it does.
  • Loves it!!

Pros?

  • Not as expensive as other "branded" lip treatments (S$30 or S$32)
  • Loving the packaging
  • Really does moisturize your lips

Cons?

  • To achieve that kissable lips look you have to apply it quite often. Especially for dry lips like mine...so the lip conditioner only lasted for about 2 weeks to 3 weeks.

Verdict? (4 out of 5 lippies)

  • I just love it. I really do.

OVERALL VERDICT?

Dont waste your time and money getting the Clinique one, the Estee Lauder one works amazingly well and I bet the Clinique one would run out the same time as the Estee Lauder one. If you look closely, both brand have the same "stick lenghth", so in terms of quantity, no difference. Honest opinion.. Go get the LIP CONDITIONER from ESTEE LAUDER...makes more sense dont ya think?

Have fun being beautiful.

Till Then Chicas.

Beauty Tips

Hey Ladies!!

Finally back in Singapore... which means I would be a graduate soon!!! (If I pass all my papers). Looking for a job now...but in the mean time...I'll just re-start my blogging passion. Its been long and sad...my blog looks sad doesnt it? Too little updates? Yes I think so too...

Anyways... BEAUTY TIPS

There are several items that we girls MUST have. These items are absolutely necessary.. period.

ITEM NO. 1

Cotton Buds/Q-tips

Cotton buds are extremely important, apart for using it for obvious purposes, cotton buds can also be used to smudge eyeliners for the bottom lid, cleaning smudged mascaras/make-up and for squeezing pimples or blackheads.

I know there are many of you who cannot stand the sight of pimple and even after YOU KNOW that squeezing pimples are a HUGE nono... you still do it. Well..... guilty. I didnt use to be like that but ever since my dilemma with the pimples... I couldnt help myself. But I was always so scared that using a tissue or a cotton pad would create more bacteria for my pimple, so what did I use? Cotton Buds...

Just simply use two cotton buds to squeeze your pimple. By doing this, the chances of your pimple getting more infected is less...good enough reason to try this one out!

ITEM NO. 2

Eyeliner

Seriously. I dont care what anyone esle says, eyeliner are here to stay. For a long long long long time... like forever. Eyeliner really makes a person eyes pop, going from day to evening with an eyeliner and a Q-tip is super easy.

Day Look

Just line your upper lids

Night Look

Line both upper and bottom lids, smudge the bottom lid with the Q-tip to give it a more feathered look. It would make you eyes super sexy.

A tip on how to make your eyeliner stay longer? Line it with a pencil eyeliner first then outline it with a liquid eyeliner. I SWEAR BY THIS. It really does work. Try it.

ITEM NO. 3

Lip Balm

Everyone must must MUST have lip balm in their purse. It doesnt matter what kind/type just one that you like. Nothing is worse than having dry, chapped lips. Seriously...its not very pretty. Trust me I had to experience it coz of my medication and it just looks ghastly.. so yes lip balm people!!!

ITEM NO.4

Matchbox

This is something I got from a fellow blogger. Ever chipped your nails when you are out with your friends? Isnt the sight of chipped nails horrendous? Well, the next time that happens, just get a matchbox from any pubs or restaurant and use the "sandpaper textured" side to file down the nail.

ITEM NO.5

Face Moisturizer

Did you guys know that a face moisturizer can double up as a make-up remover? Didnt know? Well...yes it can. And its actually more gentle than some of those make-up removers in the market. You dont have to scrub your eyes out when using moisturizers...its actually pretty easy.

So go ahead, the next time you forgot to bring your make-up remover or wanna save some dough.. just use your facial moisturizer instead....:)

Thats all I have for now babies... good to be home...:)
